Children at the conference
Freie Universität Berlin is a family-friendly university! If you are traveling with your family and are bringing your children to the conference, the following offers might be of interest to you.
game bags
We offer game bags with puzzles, books, coloring games, etc. at the registration desk. They are suitable for different age groups. We also have a range of outdoor games, such as ring throwing or a balance board, for you to borrow.
breastfeeding and relaxation room in the conference building
There is a first aid room with a recliner on the ground floor opposite the registration desk in the Henry-Ford-Building. You may use it to breastfeed or change your baby. Please ask the registration desk to gain access.
familiy room in the library
There is a family room in the library in one of the buildings of the department of law (Van't-Hoff-Str. 8), which is a 3-minute walk from the main conference building. It is a fully equipped workroom, featuring a place for breastfeeding, a changing table, painting equipment and games for small children. The room is reserved for our guests throughout the whole conference.
The room is accessible through the library. In principle, food and bags may not be brought into the library and should be left in the lockers in front of the library. There is, however, an exception for users of the familiy room - so please inform library staff of your intentions to use this room if necessary. In exceptional cases - e.g. with pushchairs - the room can also be accessed directly from the foyer after consultation with library staff.
'circus' playground
The beautiful, shady circus playground at Thielallee 62 is just an 8-minute walk away. Here your child can let off steam and be enchanted. The playground is part of a larger park.
